Van der Valk Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden is located near the beach of both Noordwijk and Katwijk. Both beaches have a number of nice and trendy beach bars. Here you can relax and have a drink. In addition, after a visit to one of the beach bars, you can take a relaxing walk on the beach or top up your tan in the sun when the weather is nice!

Nederzandt

The beach town of Nederzandt is 20 minutes (driving) distance from our hotel. This is a unique and sustainable event location with an attractive restaurant in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve on the Langevelderslag in Noordwijk aan Zee. Beach town Nederzandt exudes a casual, warm and accessible atmosphere.

All year round you can enjoy a delicious lunch, drink or dinner at the beach town of Nederzandt and incredibly fun activities such as Expedition Robinson, supping, mountain biking or surfing. In addition to many sporting activities, relaxing, culinary and creative activities are also offered. Think of yoga, a wine tasting, a cocktail workshop or a DJ workshop.

Public transport

Every half hour a bus departs from bus stop Station Sassenheim to the boulevard of Noordwijk. This bus stop is about a 10-minute walk from our hotel. Katwijk aan Zee is located slightly further than the beach of Noordwijk. There are several options for reaching Katwijk aan Zee by public transport. We recommend that you consult the NS website for travel options and current travel times.

Parking

Both the boulevard of Katwijk and the boulevard of Noordwijk can be reached by car in about 15 minutes. Sufficient parking spaces are available at both locations. Please note that this is paid parking.

Rent a bike

When the weather is nice, you can also go to the beach bars by bike! At the reception of our hotel you can rent both regular bicycles and e-bikes.
