Westlands Sailing Days

On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May 2024, Warmond will again host the Westlands Sailing Days; a sailing competition with traditional sailing ships (Westlanders and Kagenaars) on the Leede and Kagerplassen lakes. The whole weekend you can enjoy these beautiful historic ships in operation, which are often over 90 years old but still guarantee exciting competition sailing. 

In addition, there are various events and activities in and around the marquee in Groot Leerust Park in Warmond. There is also plenty to do for children! 

• Saturday: Furling race on the Kagerplassen. Start at 10:00 hrs. Ships will come to Groot Leerust Park between 12:00 and 14:00 for a half-hour lunch break.
• Sunday: Hard-sailing race on the Joppe. Start at 10:00 am. Depending on the wind, a second race will be sailed in the afternoon / afterwards. Prize-giving ceremony Sunday during the afternoon.

In the tent in the park, the tracks of the ships can also be followed on a large TV screen.
