FishFestival
The FishFestival at Van der Valk hotel Sassenheim - Leiden is the ultimate food event for the fish lover! In cooperation with fish and filleting specialist Arie Kuijt, we provide an evening-long programme with various demos and beautiful fish dishes. Alongside Arie, SVH-Meesterkok and Executive Chef of Nest restaurant, Rogér Rassin, as well as OZZO Oriental Restobar's Japanese Sushimaster chef, Takashi Nakanowatari, will also stimulate your senses during this spectacular evening.

06:30 PM - Welcome
- Fresh oysters and a celebratory glass of bubbly
- On the table: calamari with basil aioli and lemon
07:15 PM - Show 1 (tuna) by Arie Kuijt & tasting sessions with sushi chef Takashi
- Tuna filleting show
- Tasting sessions; sashimi & tataki of tuna, freshly sliced with various toppings
- Sushi created from the tuna
08:00 PM -1st course (served)
- The kitchen serves homemade bisque with crayfish
08:20 PM - Show 2 (halibut) by Arie Kuijt
- Halibut show
- Sashimi cut fresh from the knife
- The kitchen serves mussels with orzo and herb butter
08:45 PM - Show 3 (redfish) by Arie Kuijt + 2nd course (served)
- Redfish show
- Grilled halibut with celeriac purée, antiboise and grapefruit
09:15 PM - 3rd course (served)
- Redfish fillet with strawberries, pumpkin and curry sauce
09:45 PM - 4th course (served)
- Chocolate mousse with red berries
Prices
- Adults: € 125,00 p.p.
- Teens (13 - 17 yrs): € 103,50 p.p.
Includes 4-course wine pairing during the evening. Other drinks will be settled on subsequent calculation.
Payment and cancellation conditions
Please note that the FishFestival is subject to a 100% deposit. You can make the payment online directly when booking your table, or otherwise make the payment at the hotel reception until 1 week before the event at the latest. Free cancellation is possible until 1 week before the event at the latest.
Please note; this event is not suitable for children
Please note: the specials are not suitable for children. Therefore, there is no children's menu and/or children's entertainment in the children's corner during these evenings. We warmly welcome our youngest guests during the Saturday evening buffets, Sunday brunches, and/or holidays in the Live Cooking buffet restaurant!
FishFestival package including overnight stay
Enjoy a wonderful stay in our hotel after the FishFestival with the FishFestival package! This package includes entrance to the FishFestival, an overnight stay in one of our spacious Comfort or Deluxe hotel rooms and an extensive breakfast buffet the next morning.
