Are you a real fan of game meat? Then Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden is the right place for you! In November, a culinary Live Cooking Game Buffet will be served for game lovers. During this special Live Cooking Buffet, your (game meat) dishes are freshly prepared and you decide what you want to eat. You have a wide choice of starters, main courses and desserts and you will find a variety of snacks and salads from home and abroad. There is also a varied selection of home-baked breads and regional dishes.

What to expect from the game buffet?
🥂 Amuses & starters: Start your evening with refined amuses such as eendenlever mousse and red beet waffle, followed by a selection of wild pâté, venison carpaccio, smoked duck and turkey fillet, and classic pheasant pâté. Fresh salads with ingredients like cranberries, blue cheese, beets, and walnuts complete your start.
🔥Live Cooking & warm dishes: Choose from a variety of wild specialties: venison steak, wild boar medallions, duck fillet, and pheasant fillet with complementary sauces such as cognac cream or red wine sauce. Enjoy stews like venison in jagerthee sauce, wild boar and venison stew, and classic wild dishes such as confit duck leg and guinea fowl on sauerkraut. Side dishes include kale stamppot, roasted potatoes, sprouts with bacon, red cabbage with apple, and baked sweet potatoes.
🍰 Desserts: Finish with a delicious sweet buffet: from chocolate fountain with marshmallows and fruit, homemade panna cotta, tiramisu and chocolate mousse, to warm treats like pancakes with cherries, mini pancakes, and apple strudel. Something for everyone!
Prices:
- Adults: € 74,50 p.p.
- Youth (13-17 years): € 65,00 p.p.
Prices include house wine, draft beer, water, soft drinks and coffee / tea. Maximum 6 alcoholic drinks per person.
Please note that the Game Buffet is not suitable for children up to 12 years old. Therefore, there is no children's menu and/or children's entertainment in the children's corner during this evening. We warmly welcome our youngest guests during the Saturday evening buffets, Sunday brunches, and/or holidays in the Live Cooking buffet restaurant!
Book a table
To avoid disappointment, we advise you to book a table in advance.
We would like to draw your attention to the following:
- For the Live Cooking Wild Buffet you can book a table between 5.30 pm and 6 pm. The buffet lasts until 8:30 PM. We no longer accept any tables after 6.00 pm.
- Unfortunately, we cannot accept preferences regarding the size and / or location of your table. We will always reserve a cozy table for you and take the size of your party into account.
- We would like to point out that for groups of more than 10 people it is not always possible to guarantee one long table.
- We would like to draw your attention to the fact that payment is made in advance at the Live Cooking Wild Buffet. With this we want to prevent queues after your dinner and we hope to be able to provide you with even better service.
- Free cancellations can be made up to 3 days prior.
Game Buffet Arrangement
For those who really want to make a complete outing, it is possible to combine this Live Cooking Game Buffet with an overnight stay in our hotel.
