The F1 Dutch Grand Prix takes place in August at the Circuit Zandvoort by the sea. If you have tickets for the Formula 1 and are looking for a hotel near Zandvoort, take a look at our rooms and suites and enjoy a wonderful stay at Van der Valk Hotel Sassenheim - Leiden!

Our hotel is about a 35-minute drive from the circuit, but with the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Zandvoort, parking in Zandvoort itself is not possible. It is also advisable to account for extra travel time (about 45 minutes more). There are several ways to get from the hotel to Circuitpark Zandvoort, and we’ve listed them for you below:

Cycling

By bike, you can reach the Zandvoort circuit from our hotel in about 1.5 hours. In that case, you don’t need to account for any extra travel time, except possibly a slight delay when cycling into Zandvoort. Bike rentals during the Formula 1 weekend are available exclusively through a special reservation site from our bike rental partner and subject to availability. Reserve your bike here, and it will be ready for you at the hotel on your booked day(s).

With over 100,000 visitors per day, the F1 Dutch Grand Prix expects tens of thousands of spectators to arrive by bike. So, book your free bike parking spot within walking distance of the circuit here.

Train

From the hotel, it's about a 15-minute walk to Sassenheim Railway Station. You can take a train to Leiden Centraal (with 2 transfers, in Leiden and Haarlem) or to Amsterdam Sloterdijk (1 transfer in Amsterdam Sloterdijk). Click here to check the NS travel planner.

The Zandvoort Railway Station is within walking distance of the circuit (about 15 minutes), and during the Formula 1 weekend, a large number of extra trains will be running. Keep an eye on the NS website for the latest travel information, and book your train ticket in advance.

During the F1 race weekend, you can buy a special GP day return ticket from NS for €19.00 per person, allowing you to travel from any train station in the Netherlands to Zandvoort aan Zee and back. There is also a Multi-Day Return, which you can use on two days.

Note: During the race weekend, it is not allowed to bring a bicycle on the train.
