Schiphol Airport is just a 15-minute drive from Van der Valk Hotel Sassenheim - Leiden and is easily accessible by both car and public transport. Thanks to our hotel’s location on the A44, you’ll be at Schiphol Airport in no time. You can also cycle to Schiphol, which is great if you’re a fan of plane spotting! There are good bike paths around the airport all the way to the terminal, and near the terminal, you’ll find three bike racks where you can park your bike for up to 4 weeks.

Public Transport to Schiphol Airport
Just a 10-minute walk from our hotel is Sassenheim Railway Station. From there, there is a direct train connection to Schiphol Airport station. Trains depart four times an hour, and in just 16 minutes, you will arrive at Schiphol. The train stops directly below Schiphol Plaza. From the platform, you can take the escalator or lift directly to the shops and/or the arrival and departure halls.
Schiphol Airport is also easily accessible by bus. Twice an hour, you can take the direct Arriva bus (Qliner 361). The bus stops right in front of Schiphol Plaza.
In addition to the train or bus, you can also use a taxi to get to Schiphol. There are regular taxis, extra luxury Schiphol Business taxis, and a spacious bus from Schiphol Travel Taxi. Often, there is a special Schiphol rate, so be sure to ask the driver about this!
Parking at Schiphol
Schiphol Airport has several parking areas where you can park your car. For short stops, pick-ups, or parking up to 48 hours, it's best to park at P1 Short Parking. This parking lot is within walking distance of the departure hall, and reservations are not required. Follow the signs when entering the airport, and P1 Short Parking will be clearly marked.
