Atlantic Wall Bunkers in Noordwijk

Atlantic Wall bunkers

Museums

The Atlantikwall Museum Noordwijk offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into World War II and how the European coast was fortified by the Germans into a stronghold. Located at Verlengde Bosweg 1, just 250 meters from Bosweg, the museum consists of a series of historic bunkers that together form the Noordwijk Battery. This site includes a fire control bunker, gun bunkers, ammunition bunkers, and living bunkers, all connected by a network of tunnels.

In recent years, volunteers have worked hard to make several bunkers and the tunnel system accessible to the public. Visitors can explore the museum bunker (fire control bunker) independently using an audio tour, which provides detailed information about the history and use of the bunker. A special audio tour is available for children. In addition, visitors can explore the tunnel system with a guide. It is recommended to purchase tickets for the guided tour online to guarantee a spot.

The fire control bunker can be visited independently with an audio tour (Museum). The visit can be extended with a guided tour of the tunnel system (Museum + Guided Tour). Make sure to purchase tickets in advance to secure a place on the guided tour.

Opening Hours

  • From May 1 to August 31: open on Friday and Sunday.

  • From July 20 to August 31: also open on Saturday.

Parking

Parking near the beach can be time-consuming, especially in good weather. It is recommended to allow enough time for travel and parking. You should arrive at least fifteen minutes before the start of the guided tour.

The museum closes immediately after the last guided tour. If you book the last tour, visit the fire control bunker 30 to 45 minutes before that tour. Book the first tour? Then you can visit the fire control bunker after your tour.
