The collection of the LAM museum
The LAM museum houses the world’s largest collection of food art. here, you can explore artworks that highlight everyday life in a unique way. from a gigantic porcelain installation depicting a year of eating and drinking to chocolates as large as footballs. admire a banquet table where wine and champagne flow abundantly, and a three-meter-long bunch of moldy grapes made of gemstones.
The collection includes various art forms such as 3D sculptures, installations, paintings, sound art, and digital art. renowned artists such as Yinka Shonibare, Kathleen Ryan, Itamar Gilboa, and Ron Mueck present their works here. each artwork tells a story about daily subjects that connect us all.
Special environment and architecture
Located in the picturesque Keukenhof estate, a visit to the LAM museum can be perfectly combined with a walk through the estate or the nearby Keukenhof forest. the museum itself is an architectural masterpiece, designed by Arie Korbee of KVDK Architects. the building, with its large windows and use of natural materials, offers spectacular views and appears to float among the treetops. the public walkway through the museum and the display windows provide a unique experience even before entering the exhibition spaces.
