At Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, you can discover the most important discoveries in Dutch science history, including astronomy, medicine, and physics. The museum is one of several national museums in Leiden and is named after the scientist Herman Boerhaave. He worked in Leiden at the University and was director of Hortus Botanicus Leiden.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, Rijksmuseum Boerhaave also hosts temporary exhibitions on various themes.
Public transport
Rijksmuseum Boerhaave is easily accessible by public transport. NS Station Sassenheim is a 10-minute walk from our hotel. From there, trains depart four times an hour to NS Station Leiden Centraal. The station in Leiden is about a 10-minute walk from Rijksmuseum Boerhaave. Upon arrival at NS Station Leiden Centraal, you can also choose to take a bus toward the museum. Parking
Alternatively, you can reach Rijksmuseum Boerhaave by car. Via the A44, the museum can be reached in approximately 15 minutes. Parking is available at Parkeerplaats Haagweg in Leiden. From there, free shuttle buses will take you to the museum entrance and back.
Bike rental
At the reception of our hotel, we offer various high-quality bicycles for our hotel guests, which can be reserved in advance. We have both regular and electric bikes available. Rijksmuseum Boerhaave can be reached from our hotel in approximately 30 minutes by bike. Upon arrival, you can park your bike at Vrouwenkerkplein, located directly opposite the museum.
