De Kaagse Boer

When visiting Kaageiland, don’t forget to stop by De Kaagse Boer. This farm, dating from 1850, does it all. In addition to keeping livestock, the farmer also produces cheese and has a cheese museum. Visit De Kaagse Boer to discover the history of cheesemaking and what makes Boeren Leidse Kaas so special. After the tour, enjoy a coffee or a delicious sandwich with homemade cheese on the terrace, overlooking the Kaag.

Sailing on the Kagerplassen

The ferry

To visit Kaageiland, you can take the ferry, Veer Buitenkaag. From our hotel, you can reach the ferry in just 10 minutes. It is possible to use the ferry with or without a car.

Bike rental
