Space Expo invites you to explore the fascinating world of space travel. From designing and building space missions on Earth to launching them into space. Touch a real meteorite, launch a hydrogen rocket, and see André Kuipers’ original Soyuz capsule. Over the years, the museum has expanded its collection with spectacular highlights, with great attention to the history of space exploration. Walk through a model of the International Space Station (ISS). Space Expo offers an educational and fun outing for the whole family!

Ever wondered what space looks like up close? Space Expo in Noordwijk takes you on a journey through distant planets and beautiful galaxies. Discover space in an entertaining and educational way. Astronaut André Kuipers and author Sander Koenen guide you on a special mission through the museum. During this mission, you explore the world of real astronauts and can earn your own astronaut diploma! You can also admire André Kuipers’ original Soyuz capsule.

History and recognition
Space Expo was opened in 1990 by Queen Beatrix and Prince Friso. Every year, the museum welcomes more than 100,000 visitors.

Expedition Space Expo: go on a mission
Expedition Space Expo is an interactive mission for children aged 5 to 12. At the museum’s ticket desk, children receive a personal logbook with tasks, fun facts, and quiz questions. Solve the secret code and earn your very own astronaut diploma.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00, closed on Mondays. Adjusted hours during holidays and public holidays.

Accessibility
By car: follow the A44 from Amsterdam or The Hague towards Leiden/Noordwijk. Take exit 8 towards N206 and follow signs to Katwijk/Industrial area 't Heen. Follow Hoorneslaan to the large intersection, then turn right onto Biltlaan. Turn left at the 'Space Expo' sign.

By public transport: from Leiden Central Station, take bus 430 or 432 (peak hours only) towards ESA ESTEC to Space Expo stop, approximately 20 minutes travel time.

Parking
Space Expo offers free parking on-site with approximately 100 spaces, including disabled parking. There is also a bike rack for visitors arriving by bicycle.
