A look back at the Flower Parade 2018
The Flower Parade of the ‘Bollenstreek’ is the only parade that is built up with bulb flowers such as hyacinths, tulips and daffodils. Not for nothing this Flower Parade is also called the face of spring, because no parade can compete with the unique spring colors and scents that surrounds it.
The theme of the 71st Flower Parade edition was "Culture". Van der Valk Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden & Hotel Schiphol chooses with her float ‘’Young Falcons’’ for representing the Dutch culture. The float especially shows special eating habits of the Dutch culture, such as: herring, typical Dutch croquettes, cheese cubes and of course the applesauce with a cherry! All served by 5 beautiful toucans! Because doesn’t this toucan belong a little bit to the Dutch culture? After all, which Dutchman did not eat, sleep or work at least once at Van der Valk? Almost all Dutch people have a connection with this traditional Dutch family business!
Watch the aftermovie of our Young Falcons float in the Flower Parade of the Bollenstreek here. We thought it was a great experience to participate in the parade!
A look back at the Flower Parade 2017
Saturday 22th April 2017 the flower parade departed from the Wilhelminaboulevard in Noordwijk to Haarlem. The flower parade consisted of about twenty floats and over forty luxurious and special vehicles richly decorated with flowers. For an extra festive character the procession was accompanied by several bands.
This flower parade was a special one for Van der Valk Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden. Together with Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol and Hotel Haarlem, a 'Dutch Toucan' float was decorated.
