Flower shows at Keukenhof

The pavilions feature a changing selection of 20 flower and plant shows. Growers exhibit a wide variety of flowers and plants in all different colours and shapes. Of course, all of them are of the highest quality!

Keukenhof Castle

The event Keukenhof takes its name from Keukenhof Castle whose breathtaking gardens were laid out in the 15th century for countess Jacoba of Bavaria. Herbs and other ingredients for her kitchen (‘keuken’ in Dutch) were grown there, and so it was called the ‘Keukenhof’. In 1950 the garden was the setting for the first bulb exhibition, an event which has since become so popular that the Keukenhof is now world-famous for its numerous varieties of flowering bulbs.

Royal pavilions

In the Keukenhof you can enjoy the famous pavilions which are named after members of the Dutch royal family: Oranje Nassau Pavilion, Willem Alexander Pavilion, Juliana Pavilion and the Beatrix Pavilion.
