The Oosterduinse Meer is a beautiful recreational lake located in the picturesque town of Noordwijkerhout, just 9 kilometers from our hotel. Created in the 1950s and 1960s through sand excavations for the Hillegom cement-sand factory, the lake has now become a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It is affectionately nicknamed the “Lake Como of the Netherlands.” With a length of approximately 1 kilometer, a width of 400 meters, and a maximum depth of 13 meters, Oosterduinse Meer offers something for everyone.

Recreation and relaxation

Located at the edge of the inland dunes and surrounded by colorful bulb fields, Oosterduinse Meer offers an idyllic setting for a variety of recreational activities. On the west side, you will find a sandy beach approximately 300 meters long with a designated swimming area, perfect for families with children. The northern side of the lake is popular with surfers who take advantage of the favorable wind conditions.
