Medieval sword fighting tournament at Teylingen Castle

Historical Medieval Battle, or Buhurt, is a young full contact combat sport based on tournament rules from the Middle Ages. A medieval event centred around, on Saturday, a Full Contact sword fighting tournament. These are 1:1 fights, in medieval armour, in the form of a Triathlon. That is, 3 different disciplines per duel. The fights are not preordained, it is an official competition.

Specially trained referees ensure that the fight is conducted in the right direction. Will you come to cheer on the swordsmen?
