Step back in time and explore the rich history of the Netherlands during the historical event "War and Peace in the Bulb Region" at Teylingen Castle. Throughout the centuries, the Netherlands has experienced numerous military conflicts, from the Middle Ages to the Golden Age. Soldiers and wars have been part of our history, but fortunately, we have also enjoyed periods of peace for several decades.

Unfortunately, times change, and those who wish to maintain peace must prepare for war. Therefore, this year, in 2024, we expand our focus to the 20th century, a period marked by both war and peace. While the Netherlands maintained a neutral stance, we learned that defense is not always the right tactic; defense led to occupation. By subsequently reclaiming our country in allied cooperation, the Netherlands has developed into the modern armed forces we know today.
