Golden Gaff rigging races

Step aboard for an adventure full of sailing fun during the Golden Gaff Rigging Races, organized by the Zeilvaart Warmond Foundation. On August 24th and 25th, the waterfront comes to life with two days of excitement, speed, and strategy.

On Saturday, August 24th, the spectacle begins at 10:00 a.m. with the Beurtveer Race on the picturesque Kagerplassen. Skippers compete not only for speed but also for tactics. Their mission? Collecting stickers at various locations around the lakes. The clock ticks mercilessly as they gather points. Between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m., the ships dock at Park Groot Leerust for a well-deserved lunch break of half an hour.

On Sunday, August 25th, the excitement continues with the Hard Sail Race on the Joppe, starting at 10:00 a.m. If the wind remains favorable, a second race will even be sailed in the afternoon. And for those who prefer to stay on dry land, the tent in Park Groot Leerust offers a perfect view of the action, with live footage on a large TV screen.
