Explore the Dutch Dunes by MTB

Walking, cycling or mountain biking; it's all possible in the beautiful Hollands Duin. A narrow but varied dune strip stretches from Wassenaar to the top of South Holland: Hollands Duin. A row of dunes created together by nature and man. Wind and water formed beaches and dunes, people planted potato fields, extracted water from the dune soil and planted forests. All this has today resulted in a beautiful nature reserve.

Location

The entry point for the mountain bike route is at the Duindamseslag parking lot (exit 24), 2204 AM in Noordwijk at restaurant De Witte Raaf. From here you can follow the cycle path and after about 1 kilometer the cycle path goes up. Here you can turn right after about 40 meters to arrive at the start of the first part of the route (the start is clearly indicated).

Rent a mountain bike

You can rent a mountain bike at Rent-a-Bike van Dam. The address is: Landbouwplein 10, 2211 GE in Noordwijkerhout.

You can travel to the rental company by bus from NS Station Sassenheim in approximately 35 minutes. In the meantime, you have to change to another bus in Voorhout. For the exact travel options, you can consult the website of the NS.

Within 15 minutes you can also drive to the rental company by car. There is a parking lot next to the company where you can park your car for free for two hours. If you want to park your car for a longer period of time, we recommend that you park your car in Parking Victoriberg. Here too it is free for the first two hours, but here you can leave your car longer for a fee.

From Rent-a-Bike van Dam you can cycle to the starting point of the mountain bike route in about 15 minutes. If you already have your own mountain bike, you can cycle from our hotel to the starting point in about 30 minutes.

In the Hollands Duin there are various walking, cycling and mountain bike trails for young and old. For more information, check out the website of Staatsbosbeheer or view the mountain bike routes of the Northern bikers.
